Petia is a comprehensive platform that combines pet-focused live streaming, channel creation, and social networking. It enables users to capture and share everyday moments with their pets while building a connected community of fellow pet owners. Through Petia, users can launch their own pet channels, stream live content, watch videos from others, follow favorite accounts, and share memorable clips—all in one place.

From User Insight to Interaction Strategy
According to the Korean Pet Report, South Korea has entered an era where over ten million households own pets, highlighting the growing cultural relevance and commercial demand surrounding pet ownership. In response, Petia was conceived as a platform to unify scattered pet-related content from social media into a dedicated space for live streaming and community interaction. To better understand pet owners’ media habits, user interviews were conducted with individuals who frequently consume pet-related content online. These insights guided Petia’s UX direction: users wanted not only a simple way to record and share their pets’ lives, but also a more engaging, interactive experience with other pet lovers. Reflecting these needs, Petia was designed to extend offline pet relationships into a digital space, offering live content, community connection, and intuitive features that support spontaneous sharing and discovery.

In translating these goals into design, the UI places emphasis on the content itself, particularly video. It adopts a fullscreen layout and dark mode as the default, helping reduce visual distractions and eye strain while enhancing immersion during video viewing. This visual environment allows users to stay focused on the content, whether they are watching others or preparing to go live themselves. Key actions, such as starting a live broadcast, are designed to be minimal, intuitive, and easily accessible. This reduces the number of steps required and supports spontaneous engagement with the platform. A red accent color is used sparingly but strategically to highlight live broadcasts, signaling urgency and drawing users’ attention to real-time activity. The overall visual system supports a smooth transition between watching and broadcasting, lowering the barrier to participation while maintaining a clean and focused interface.
